Deen Dayal Upadhyaya University (DDU), Gorakhpur, is gearing up to provide smartphones to nearly 5000 undergraduate students. The university administration has compiled a list with the names and mobile numbers of students, making preparations for the distribution scheduled around the festival of Makar Sankranti in the upcoming year.
This initiative is part of the state government’s commitment to digitally empower students pursuing higher education. Under this scheme, approximately 5000 students across two academic sessions at DDU are slated to receive smartphones. The university administration is orchestrating an extensive program for the distribution of these mobile devices.
Prof. Poonam Tandon, Vice-Chancellor of DDU, highlighted the significance of ensuring the availability of smartphones, ensuring a seamless execution of the plan.
This move aligns with the broader vision of enhancing digital literacy and accessibility for students, fostering a more connected and technologically equipped academic environment.
