On 29th December 2024, Janki Devi Memorial College (JDMC), University of Delhi, was conferred with the prestigious World Peace Education & Promotion Award by the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP), affiliated with ECOSOC-United Nations. The ceremony took place at the India International Centre, New Delhi, in recognition of the college’s remarkable contributions to peace education and promoting global peace.
The award was presented to Prof. Swati Pal, the Principal of JDMC, along with three college representatives:
- Ms. Vrinda Kapur from the Department of Commerce
- Ms. Himani Dahiya from the Department of Commerce
- Mr. Tarun Sharma from the Department of English
In addition to the faculty, 23 students from various departments of JDMC were also felicitated for their efforts in promoting peace education and actively participating in global peace initiatives.
The award recognizes the college’s ongoing commitment to fostering values of peace, inclusivity, and global citizenship among its students and faculty. JDMC has consistently been at the forefront of initiatives that promote world peace through educational programs, events, and collaborations with international organizations.
