In a significant development, Prof. S. N. Sankhwar has officially taken charge as the Director of the prestigious Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) at Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Prof. Sankhwar, a distinguished Urologist with a wealth of experience, is poised to steer the institute towards a new era of growth and excellence.
Speaking about his new role, Prof. Sankhwar expressed his commitment to elevating IMS to greater heights. He acknowledged the institution’s esteemed reputation in India and expressed his deep honor in joining its ranks. The responsibilities were formally handed over to Prof. Sankhwar by officiating Director Prof. S. K. Singh.
Prior to assuming the directorship at IMS, Prof. Sankhwar served as the Head of the Department of Urology at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. In addition to his urological expertise, he also held the position of Chief Medical Superintendent at KGMU, showcasing his extensive administrative acumen.
Prof. Sankhwar’s areas of specialization encompass general urology, male infertility, endourology, and female urology. His tenure at KGMU was marked by notable contributions in both academic and administrative capacities.
