Lucknow University (LU) is delighted to announce the excellence in CSIR-NET JRF (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – National Eligibility Test for Junior Research Fellow) examinations by 24 postgraduate students of the Department of Science and Mathematics. Among the achievers, Geology student Abhishek Maurya secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR) of 12, while Zoology graduate Aakriti Tiwari bagged a research fellowship in her third attempt with an excellent AIR of 55.

CSIR-NET JRF exam opens doors to doctoral research studies in reputed universities and research laboratories, and also serves as a qualifying eligibility for Assistant Professor posts in universities and colleges.
Abhishek Maurya, age 24, envisions working at the Geological Survey of India (GSI), a government agency under the Ministry of Mines. His journey towards success started during his M.Sc studies with focus on joining GSI. Inspired by field exposure in geology, he ventured into seismology, igniting his passion for scientific exploration. Abhishek is now eagerly waiting for GSI Mains Exam Result and planning to do PhD from IIT Bombay if need be.
Aakriti Tiwari, 28, accomplished her goal of securing a research fellowship after three attempts. Currently pursuing PhD in Biomedical Engineering at IIT Varanasi, Aakriti intends to contribute to breast cancer research. His dedication to research and academic pursuits earned him appreciation from his teachers and praise from his supportive parents.
