The College of Community Science, Central Agricultural University,Imphal, Tura, Meghalaya, embraced the spirit of International Yoga Day with fervor and zeal. The event took place on 21st June 2023 at the college campus, as well as at the adopted village Darekchigre by the Rural Agriculture Work Experience (RAWE) program. Additionally, preschool children from the Laboratory Nursery School actively participated in the celebration.
The International Yoga Day celebration aimed to promote the practice of yoga among students, faculty, and the local community. Yoga sessions were conducted, guided by experienced instructors, to familiarize participants with various yoga postures (asanas) and breathing exercises (pranayama). The event fostered a sense of physical and mental well-being while emphasizing the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life.
The College of Community Science’s engagement with the adopted village Darekchigre through the RAWE program showcased their commitment to community development and holistic education. By involving preschool children from the Laboratory Nursery School, the event also aimed to instill the value of yoga from an early age, encouraging a healthy lifestyle and overall well-being.
